‘Tales from the Perilous Realm’ by J. R. R. Tolkein

In Tales from the perilous realm, the prequel and introduction story of the hobbit and lord of the rings is highlighted. The book consists of five small short stories:-

1.Roverrandom :- Is a story about a dog named Roverrandom who is turned into a toy by a wizard and his adventures to turn back to his original form.

2. Farmer Giles of Ham: – Is an English farmer who encounters a dragon and the story speaks of their adventures.

3. The Adventures of Tom Bombadil :- Is a story of Mr.Bombadil’s heroism in a poetry form. It also tells us about Hobbitorgin.

4. Smith of Wootton Major :- Is a funny entertaining story in the land of fairy, where a new master cook has to prepare a special great cake of magical ingredients for a Feast.

5. Leaf by Niggle :- Is based on a artist named Niggle who explores real-life things and copies them onto his canvas.

The book is a must read for all fantasy-loving people. The language here used is bit hard as it is Old English, but the book has everything a book needs like humor, action, thrilling moments, etc. This book is a delight for those who have earlier read Tolkein’s creations like ‘The Hobbit’ and ‘Lord of the Rings’ which I have felt. This book moves just like any other ordinary fairy tale and it is written with skill and dedication. I give this book 4 out of 5 stars.
