During my summer holidays, I read one of my favourite books of The Harry Potter series –Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. It is the longest book I have ever read. The book was so tempting that I had to finish it in one go.
Harry Potter is to start his seventh and final year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. But he and his best friends that are Ronald Weasley and Hermione Granger leave the school on a secret mission left to them by Albus Dumbledore. They are on the search for Horcruxes. Horcuxes are materials that contain a person’s soul. To kill and completely destroy Voldemort, they have to destroy all his Horcruxes. Voldemort has stored his soul in six horcuxes of which two have already been destroyed –one a ring that contained the Resurrection Stone (which Dumbledore had destroyed) and the second the diary of Tom Riddle (which Harry had destroyed in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets). Harry and his friends are able to destroy most of them. First, they secretly infiltrate the Ministry of Magic and find the R.A.B locket with Dolores Umbridge and destroy it with the sword of Godric Gryffindor. Then with Griphook they enter Bellatrix vault in Gringotts (the goblin-run bank) and get Hufflepuff’s’ cup. Ron and Hermione use the basilisk fangs from the Chamber of Secret to destroy it. Rowena Ravenclaw’s diadem is found in the Room of Requirement and Crabbe sets a Fiendfyre (a kind of magical flame that destroys everything) and the diadem is also destroyed. Finally, Neville cuts off Nagini’s head (Voldemort’s terrible serpent) with the sword of Godric Gryffindor. Then Harry and Voldemort duels and Voldemort‘s Avada Kedavra hits himself as Harry takes the Elder Wand and Voldemort fall to the ground absolutely dead.
Nineteen years later, we find that Harry and Ginny are married and they have three children James Potter, Albus Severus and Lilly Luna. The two boys are off to Hogwarts whereas Lilly is too young to go yet. Ron and Hermione are also married and they have two children –Rose and Hugo. It’s Albus’ first year and he is afraid he will get sorted into Slytherin and Harry tells him that he was named after two headmasters of Hogwarts –Albus Dumbledore and Severus Snape who was a Slytherin and the bravest man he ever knew. So no matter which house he gets sorted into, they will all be proud of him.
