Again a summer vacation!!!
Air-conditioned rooms, cool drinks, ice creams etc. etc….., but the main ingredient is missing. Right? Books!!! of course.
“Men”, said Mr. Kyle, “people have been trying to understand dogs ever since the beginning of time. One never knows what they’ll do. You can read every day where a dog saved the life of a drowning child, or lay down his life for his master. Some people call this loyalty. I don’t. I may be wrong, but I call it love – the deepest kind of love. ”
I chose ‘Where the Red Fern Grows‘ by American writer Wilson Rawls as my FaB challenge book. The story revolves around a boy named Billy Colman who ardently desires for two Redbone Coonhound puppies. After hard working for nearly two years by helping his grandpa and the fishermen and saving up enough money he gets his puppies and he is delirious. Billy’s determination and faith in God inspired me a lot. Billy trains his dogs, namely Old Dan and Little Ann to hunt the raccoons and they become the best coon hunters of the valley. Every moment of every day was euphoric to Billy. But danger awaits him. Want to know what it is? Read this heart touching book. I am sure everybody, animal lovers and those who don’t care for animals would love it equally. My rating to this book is 4. 5/5.
