The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari: A Fable About Fulfilling Your Dreams & Reaching Your Destiny

Hi! First of all I congratulate all the students and staff who were a part of the first chapter of FaceaBook challenge on completing it successfully. The vigour and enthusiasm shown by the members right from selecting the books and following each and every phases of the challenge with the sportsman spirit was remarkably wonderful. Here we are at the beginning of the second version of the FaceaBook Challenge.

I was searching for one small and suitable book for me to join the challenge this year( – small because of the less time I manage to get after the busy routine.)

After a long search and thought I landed upon this.

Yes !!!

“The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari: A Fable About Fulfilling Your Dreams & Reaching Your Destiny” by Robin Sharma, a Motivational Speaker and writer.

“The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari ” tells the extraordinary story of Julian Mantle, a lawyer forced to confront the spiritual crisis of his out-of-balance life, and the subsequent wisdom that he gains on a life-changing odyssey that enables him to create a life of passion, purpose and peace.

The core of the book is the Seven Virtues of Enlightened Learning,

  1. master your mind
  2. follow your purpose
  3. practice kaizen
  4. live with discipline
  5. respect your time
  6. selflessly serve others
  7. embrace the present

I have just begun and hope to complete it soon … It’s that interesting and inspirational. I’ll tell more after completing my reading.

Courage is the unique quality of the youth – As in “Turning Points”

While reading “Turning Points” the following passage caught my attention.

“Courage to think different,

Courage to invent,

Courage to travel on an unexpected path,

Courage to discover the impossible,

Courage to combat the problems and succeed,

are the unique qualities of the youth,

As a youth of my nation,

I will work  and work with courage to achieve success in all the missions”

It’s not just reading text books which makes up the Education. Along with that all the extra activities one takes up contributes to the real education. A degree certificate may get you a job, but, for a successful life, experiences in a wide range of fields are essential.

So, youth,m have the courage …

Turning Points : A Journey Through Challenges – A.P.J. Abdul Kalam

Snapshot_20140505_7ddTurning Points A Journey through Challenges is an inspiring sequel to “Wings of Fire”

When I saw this book, I could not leave it behind, as my mind was escalated to ecstasy – the inspiring thoughts I had by reading Wings of Fire tempted me to read this. Let me finish reading this, I will surely come up with a thorough review of the book. I expect that everyone should read this book and get inspired and motivated to look forward and work hard to lead out nation to the zenith of glory.
